Now that's awesome, moral of the story. Support your own habits
While I support the incentive, I disapprove of the action. The father could just as easily taken all the games and hidden them away some where. At work, at a friends house, anywhere, and achieve the desired effect. But no, he actually had to *destroy* them.
A parent is responsible for teaching their children values, and even though that "boy" is basically a grown ass man, what his father just taught him is: "It's okay to destroy someone's property if you disapprove of what they're doing." The guy is gonna bring that down with him if he ever have kids of his own.
Let's say the video had shown a father mowing down his young child's lego because the kid refuses to do his homework. Not the same, but it works for scale. Would this video be funny then, or just an example of terrible parenting?
Taking it away, and promising to give it back when the required action is fulfilled, teaches the child that hard work grants it the perks it wants.
I seen that and laughed my ass off...My brother shared it with me on facebook
I don't think this is funny at all. I'm in full agreement with lambda.

As grown man and under his dads roof, he lives by dads rules. He should be great full dad didn't put him out on his ass. If he wants to lay around and play games all day and not work he needs his shit ran over. As a culture we are raising lazy ass kids. If you dont contribute to the tribe then your wasting space.
No one argues against that, but it could've been done without the destruction of property, and it would've been just as effective. He could've been given a chance to get his games back, now that's impossible. If you want to ride a mule, you need both a carrot and a whip
Then be glad you didn't grow up in my house. You worked, went to school or lost your shit. I would have kicked his ass out my house with his shit.
Having children that are like this kid is serious business. I pay for those games and I would be damned if I destroyed the games. Many of time my son has not done what he was supposed to do and I had him pack them in a box. The games went in my closet and he worked his ass off double to get them back. It taught him that he will lose his shit if he doesn't do right. I agree running them over should not have been the answer. He should have just taken them away then got that kid some help. If my children talked to me the way that kid talked to him they wouldn't sit right for a damn month. Clearly the dad lacked in parenting skills to let it get this far to begin with.
I need to buy this father a beer . I like his style .
