I am going to put it this way! I hate Mustaines voice! That is just my opinion though! So I always leaned toward Metallica more. As far as musicianship Megadeth is one of the best bands around! I am not gonna knock them for that!

they are both good bands. in high school i got heavily into both and i never understood the people who thought you had to be fan of one and dislike the other.

Who the fuck cares if Mustaine and Hetfield/ulrich were assholes to each other. Good music is good music. I currently have the best of both of those on my ipod.

I am a drummer myself and I love Metallica, used to idolize Ulrich. I still carry 53 songs of theirs around on my phone. Only ever got into about a album worth of songs of Megadeth, but I always appreciated the crazy talented drummers.

you know its interesting i've HEARD, not actually researched but heard that they never play And Justice For All songs with double bass live and i've again HEARD it's because Lars can't play double bass which makes sense. he's never really used it for any studio albums. i'm kinda curious myself. he is a very talented drummer though.

You're right even his double bass parts on the Justice album are sloppy. They don't play them live party because of the double bass, partly because the length and repetitive nature of the songs, and partly because that album was at a transition point for the band and I don't think the band members like many of those songs anymore.

Ulrichs strengths are simplicity, intensity, and playing along with a riff to compliment it. He is also a good song writer and has always been at the forefront of the business and publicity end of the band, essentially the more vocal co- leader of the band with Hetfield.

there's tons of good songs, just listen to the full albums - Rust in Peace, Countdown to Extinction, Youthanasia, Peace Sells But Who's Buying and So Far So Good So What. i think you'll like most of it.

I will pro get a few hrs tomorrow between 5am-7 to listen to a bit more.u can really notice the difference in the age between the two I listened to.
Done a search and and extinction came up a lot and was hailed by a few pages that it was top notch
So hell il download a few albums tonight and take the headphones to work tomorrow.
